The Science of Interior and Perimeter Defense
Reclaiming your outdoor environment through scientific hydrology and lifecycle interruption.
Mosquitoes and ticks are more than a nuisance; they are a biological breach of your property’s comfort zone. Most services approach pest control as a reactive exercise in volume spraying. At Zenith, we view it as a challenge of environmental engineering. We move beyond the "spray and go" model to implement a protocol rooted in the specific biology of Mid Michigan. By understanding the intersection of water, temperature, and insect development, we provide a level of protection that is both invisible and absolute.
Mosquitoes are the product of very specific environmental conditions. To effectively manage them, one must understand the water they use.
We utilize regional wetland data to map the drainage patterns of your property. We identify not only the visible water features, like ponds or streams, but also the "cryptic" harborages such as low-lying shaded depressions, clay saturation points, and structural drainage failures.
We treat these areas with BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis), a biological agent that targets larvae before they can transition into biting adults.
Only the female mosquito bites. She needs blood proteins to produce her eggs. By the time you feel a bite, the local population has already begun its reproductive surge. Our protocol focuses on "Harborage Neutralization." Using electrostatic delivery, we coat the underside of the foliage where mosquitoes rest during the day to avoid drying out in the sun. This ensures that the moment a mosquito seeks shelter, it makes contact with our microencapsulated barrier.
The major difference with Zenith service is the integration of the In2Care system. This technology does not simply kill mosquitoes; it transforms the survivors into unsuspecting delivery vehicles for our biological agents.
The In2Care station attracts egg-laying females. Once inside, they are contaminated with a dual-action biological payload.
As the mosquito leaves the station and travels to other "cryptic" water sources on your property, she carries a specialized growth regulator with her. She effectively treats the areas we cannot reach, collapsing larvae in hidden gutters and tree holes.
The mosquito is also infected with a slow-acting fungus that neutralizes her within several days, ensuring she has enough time to spread the growth regulator to as many breeding sites as possible.
Ticks do not fly or jump; they wait. They utilize a behavior called "questing," where they cling to the tips of tall grass or low-hanging brush and wait for a host to pass by. Most ticks do not walk more than a few feet in their entire lifetime. In Mid Michigan, the primary threat comes from the transition zones where your lawn meets a wooded perimeter or landscape bed.
We utilize Scion UVX and Polyzone technology to create a "scaffold" of chemistry along these transition lines. These products are engineered to bond to the waxy surface of leaves, resisting sun breakdown and heavy rainfall.
We incorporate Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulators into our tick treatments. Ticks must molt through several life stages (larva, nymph, and adult) to survive. Our growth regulators disrupt this molting process. If a tick cannot transition to the next stage, it cannot breed or survive. This provides a long-term reduction in the local tick population that standard insecticides alone cannot achieve.
Many companies rely on generic products that are highly susceptible to "photolysis" or breakdown by sunlight (hence the need for retreatment every 21 days). In the height of a Michigan summer, these products often lose half of their efficacy within two weeks.
Ken and Kalib Sleight personally calibrate every application based on the "Growing Degree Days" (GDD) data provided by MSU Enviroweather. We time our interventions to coincide with the exact thermal triggers that signal peak emergence for mosquitoes and ticks in our region. When you choose Zenith, you are commissioning a scientifically managed biological shield.
